Institute Profile: In keeping with India's vision to become a world leader in Science and Technology and to usher in a new revolution, resulting in an unprecedented economic growth, Government of India reassessed the need of technical manpower and decided to set up eight new IITs. Six of them started functioning back from the academic year 2008-09. These were established at Hyderabad, Gandhinagar, Rajasthan, Ropar, Patna and Bhubaneswar. IIT Indore and IIT Mandi started functioning from July 2009.

Project Title: " Reducing computational complexity using FPGA to study structure and dynamical properties of nanoparticles".

Department: EEE

Tenure of the Project: The project duration is for 3 years and the initial appointment will be for one year, and is extendable further based on satisfactory performance.

Essential Qualifications:
M.Tech./M.E. degree and 2 years of research experience in Computer Science and Engineering/Electrical and Electronics Engineering/or in equivalent streams with a valid GATE score.
OR
M.Sc degree in Physics/Chemistry and 2 years of research experience with a valid GATE or CSIR/UGC-NET or JEST score.
OR
Candidates not having the required qualification but feel thay are suitable for this project, may also apply by providing justification and qualifications. These candidates may be considered for a JRF position.

Desired: Candidates must have experience in digital electronics (basics in microprocessors / microcontrollers). Exposure to programming languages such a C, C++ and hardware description languages such as VHDL, Verilog etc. are desirable.  

Emoluments: The amount of SRF / JRF fellowship will be as per DST norms.
